Position Details

We are currently looking for a Manager, Strategic Communications and Engagement. This newly created position will play a critical leadership role leading and managing a team accountable for communication and engagement activities for the VLSB+C.  This role has responsibility for strategic communications, reputation and issues management, media enquiries, public relations, profile raising, stakeholder relations and engagement, and outreach activities.

A key focus of this leadership position is to drive communication and engagement initiatives to ensure that VLSB+C is projected as an impactful, empathetic and customer-focused regulator to the legal profession and consumer.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong skills in leadership and people management, and stakeholder and relationship management.  You will be a strategic individual who can create opportunity and effectively manage risk in leading the delivery of innovative, integrated communications, and stakeholder engagement. You will also seek out new ideas and ways of working, and able to lead innovative practices as part of improving the VLSB+C's strategic communication effectiveness and reach.

As a member of the broader VLSB+C management group you will work collaboratively with your peers and the Senior Leadership Team in implementing the organisational strategy, A Clear Direction. The position reports to the Director, Policy and Outreach.
