The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is a State Government statutory authority governed by the Victorian Planning Authority Act 2017. Our focus is on integrated land use, built form and infrastructure planning outcomes for significant precincts and places in growing Victorian cities, suburbs and regions. We collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to deliver the Victorian Government's planning policies in support of urban growth, housing, jobs and transport options. Position Details

The VPA has various roles across four key strategic planning groups:

Outer Melbourne - focusses on unlocking innovative and timely development outcomes in the greenfield areas and strategic sites and innovation clusters of outer Melbourne.

Middle Melbourne - planning for urban renewal of strategic sites, innovation clusters and precincts in partnership with councils and stakeholders, to increase the amount and diversity of new housing and to grow employment opportunities.

Inner Melbourne - leads the planning for the transformation of state significant precincts and major sites in inner Melbourne into well designed vibrant and resilient places that support high value jobs, build new communities and enhance Melbourne's reputation as a global city.

 Regional Victoria - supports the growth of regional cities, centres and towns by partnering with councils to deliver customised spatial planning solutions that reflect the diversity, strengths and aspirations of regional communities.

Our Planning Services team sits within the Planning Infrastructure & Technical group and delivers high quality reliable and timely regulatory design that facilitates the efficient development of places across Victoria experiencing high growth.  The team create clear and robust regulatory environments and provide input and implementation advice to state and local government process improvement and regulatory innovation programs.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside our diverse partners and stakeholders to deliver integrated land use, built form and infrastructure outcomes for strategic precincts and places across Victoria.
