About the VPA

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) formerly the Growth Areas Authority was  founded in 2006 to plan for Melbourne’s growth, maintain a steady supply of quality housing and identify opportunities to create jobs and encourage investment to make sure Melbourne continues to be rated as one of the world’s most liveable cities.

We work in partnership with local councils, landowners, industry bodies, local communities and the Victorian Government to ensure growth is well planned and to help deliver exciting Greenfield and Urban Renewal projects across Victoria.

The Role

The VPA seeks a talented professional who will manage the preparation of greenfield precinct structure plans and other associated strategic plans as the blueprints for the development of new communities, employment areas and activity centres. 


You will liase with a range of stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes around specific planning issues as well as the preparation of sound planning advice, analysis and assessment of planning proposals.

  • Salary:  $90,890 - $109,969 – depending on skills and experience (Grade 5) plus Annual Leave Loading & Superannuation
