VicRoads is responsible for licensing approximately five million drivers in Victoria, and registering more than six million cars, motorcycles, heavy vehicles, and trailers for the Victorian road network. The Victorian Government has made an in-principle decision to progress a joint venture model for VicRoads Registration & Licensing, and Custom Plates. The purpose of a joint venture is to modernise a number of VicRoads services to make them more user friendly for motorists and deliver value for money for Victorians. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure registration and licencing as well as customer plate products and services will be simple, accessible, fast, and convenient, ensuring the government delivers contemporary digital systems to all VicRoads customers, industry partners and stakeholders.

Position Details

Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Manager Service Enhancement, the Contract and Vendor Manager supports the ICT Service Manager by leading the delivery of IT contracts.


About you:

The skills and experience required in the position include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Ability to demonstrate expert knowledge of contemporary IT procurement practices and contract management of ICT projects and contracts in accordance with JV and Victorian Government procurement process and


  • Ability to apply expert written and verbal communication skills to ensure the submissions and reports to Senior Management at JV and external stakeholders are succinct with clarity and high quality


  • Ability to develop strategic relationships, negotiate with and influence key internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful


  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, review, develop, and recommend improvements to procedures/processes and plans to improve quality and timely delivery of services within IM&T and to its stakeholders


  • Able to apply advanced problem solving, negotiation and influencing skills to analyse and implement improvements to Service Provider performance issues


  • Ability to manage multiple objectives, projects, or activities on time and within budget using effective judgement in prioritisation and planning whilst working effectively within a team environment
