Position Details

Opening June 29, 2017, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) will present Wallace & Gromit and friends: The magic of Aardman as part of Melbourne Winter Masterpieces. The exhibition boasts more than 350 objects including: original artworks; over 50 set pieces such as Wallace’s Cracking Contraptions and Gromit’s famous vegetable garden; Shaun the Sheep sets; the flying machine from Chicken Run; and the spectacular 5-metre tall ship from The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Exclusive to ACMI will be additional artworks from the studio’s forthcoming feature film Early Man due for release in 2018.

You have an exciting opportunity to be a part of this exhibition. We are looking for talented customer service professionals who are:

  • Experienced in delivering customer service within a gallery/museum context
  • Calm and effective in an environment of high visitor volumes
  • Blessed with exceptional interpersonal skills and
  • Passionate about film, digital media and the arts

We have a variety of Visitor Services Officer roles available on a part time or casual basis, specialising in Front of House, Retail or Ticketing for the duration of the exhibition.

As a Visitor Services Officer you will be responsible for providing an exceptional experience for visitors to ACMI, offering guidance and insight into this exhibition as well as ACMI’s other related programs and events. All the successful candidates for these roles will be joining an organisation where great value is placed on working collegiately and where there is a strong motivation to deliver a memorable experience for our visitors. Our people are immensely proud of ACMI and its values.

The Visitor Services team works on a rotating fortnightly roster. We are looking for flexible team members who are able to work weekdays, weekends and evenings. Please indicate your availability in our online application form - preference will be given to those with the greatest availability.
