Position Details

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) serves the community by resolving civil and administrative disputes in a cost effective and efficient manner. VCAT plays an important role in Victoria's civil justice system. VCAT offers a wide range of legal and non-legal career options. The role of a Business Analyst sits within VCAT's Reporting Team which is a part of the Finance and Reporting Team.

VCAT's Reporting Team is looking for a motivated, engaging and results driven Business Analyst with a good understanding of Reporting functions. In line with software development lifecycle processes, the Business Analyst will manage all required changes through the requirements gathering, design, testing and documentation phases. Duties will include:

  •  Responding to ad-hoc and routine reporting requests through designing new reports and analysing data
  • Identifying document, review and analyse business requirements to improve  organisational performance.
  • Designing, documenting and supporting of projects in the Reporting office and the development of appropriate project material.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated strong experience in Reporting functions, use of the Crystal Report Designer or SAP BO to design reports
  • Demonstrated experience in business requirements development with a strong process  improvement approach
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including a  demonstrated ability to liaise with internal and external senior stakeholders
  • Strong conceptual analytical and organisational skills and the capacity to prepare reports  within a sensitive and confidential environment with set time frames
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Business Information Technology, IT or Computer science is highly regarded.
