About North East Link 

The North East Link Program (NELP) is a $15.8bn infrastructure project that will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, while increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east whilst creating thousands of new jobs.  NELP is the Victorian Government entity responsible for the delivery of this project.  

About the Opportunity 

Are you an experienced Landscape Architect, Urban Designer or Architect looking to make your mark on a major project? This may be the perfect opportunity for you!  

NELP is currently seeking a Senior Urban Design and Architecture Coordinator to join our Central Delivery team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Urban Design, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the North East Link in line with the Urban Design strategy. 

As Senior Urban Design and Architecture Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to provide specialist expertise across all aspects of urban design and architecture, leaving a legacy in Melbourne's North-eastern suburbs for years to come. 

Travel and time spent at our Heidelberg and Abbotsford offices is a requirement of this position.   

About You 

Ideal to this role will be a candidate with experience in supporting the design development and implementation phase for a complex project in accordance with an Urban Design Strategy. In order to thrive in this role, you will have an aptitude to develop positive relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. 

In addition, you will have:  

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of urban design and architectural integration, as well as experience in providing strategic advice on urban design requirements  
  • Proven experience and knowledge across highly diverse range of circumstances, multi-disciplinary technical coordination, and large-scale infrastructure 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Councils and Authority guidelines/requirements, Government Department Standards and National Construction Code
