Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. Position Details

About us

The Infrastructure and Security Unit manages and provides oversight on all major infrastructure projects, maintenance and security requirements (i.e. Dynamic and Static security) within the facilities. The unit manages and oversees the safety and security of our staff and clients, enabling service delivery staff to focus on providing services to clients.

About the role

As the Maintenance Officer, you will required to assist maintenance staff maintain buildings to a high standard by providing services throughout the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct and other Secure Services sites as required. This will be done by undertaking maintenance works including carpentry repairs and glazing, and manufacturing a range of fittings.

2 positions are available. One ongoing role and one fixed-term for 6 months.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • completed an approved trades apprenticeship issued by the Industrial Training Commission of Victoria or equivalent in a recognised trade/s such as carpentry, joinery, welding, glazing, locksmith, plumbing
  • demonstrated experience and abilities in building inspecting, problem resolution and cost estimation for general building and construction works within commercial parameters
  • demonstrated experience in building/maintenance repairs for general building and construction within a commercial environment.
