About the Business Unit:
Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) is a 954-bed maximum-security remand facility based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Prisoners on remand are alleged offenders who were not bailed when charged with a crime and are awaiting the outcome of their court case.
About the Role:
In the context of a prison, the Team Leader oversees and assists with the provision of effective corporate support services (as specified), within the unique operational environment of a correctional facility.
Some of your duties will include:
- Delivering justice services and maintaining accurate, confidential records and providing statistical reports in line with agreed standards and local operating procedures
- Supervising the Property team in the delivery of all administrative functions pertaining to Property at the Metropolitan Remand Centre, including the maintenance of accurate data of prisoner property and the preparation of all documentation relating to a prisoner's property transfer, classification and release or court appearances
- Planning and prioritising the workload of the Property team, ensuring effective and efficient operations.

- Good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations
- An understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records.
