Position Details
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced, talented and motivated individual to join the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector (Commission) as Senior Policy and Programs Adviser.
As Senior and Policy and Programs Adviser, you will play a vital role in supporting defined entities with legislative obligations under the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) (the Act). You will provide advice and support to defined entities to help ensure the Act's effectiveness by influencing stakeholders to understand and promote the Act's obligations and objectives and using evidence to drive progress towards gender equality.
The successful candidate will be a high-performing and proactive self-starter with the ability to build collaborative relationships and networks, communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, and deliver a range of tasks under pressure. Experience in and/or understanding of gender equality, particularly within workplace settings, would be an advantage.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Develop and deliver accurate and timely policy and stakeholder engagement advice to government departments, the Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner, Senior Executives, and the Minister for Women.
- Develop written guidance, website content, social media content (including using Canva), communications and presentations to inform stakeholders and support organisations to meet their obligations under the Act and the promotion of best practice approach to supporting gender equality within public sector workplaces.
- Provide high quality and timely support to stakeholder through effective case management, record management and systems/administrative processes.
