Senior Project Manager/Team Leader

THE ROLE

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of housing upgrade and maintenance projects including procurement and management of multi-disciplinary consultancies involved in design and documentation, and contractors undertaking upgrade and maintenance works in Homes Victoria properties throughout Victoria. The role involves program management including planning and scheduling, procuring and managing consultancy, works, supply and other contracts of various scales to deliver programmed and demand-driven upgrades and maintenance.  Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including Divisional officers, consultants, contractors, renters, external agencies, local government, and departmental staff. A high standard of project co-ordination is required to ensure timely delivery of projects, including robust procurement processes; timely, accurate and professional communications, briefings and responses to enquiries; and budget and cash flow management and reporting.

The role will require an experienced candidate with proficiency in all facets of construction project management including coordinating procurement processes and contract management, providing authoritative advice, and building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver key project outcomes. The role will also involve overseeing day to day management of a VPS 4 Project Manager and providing advice and leadership.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

1. Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
2. Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
3. Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
