Camperdown Victoria is located only a 45 minutes’ drive from Warrnambool or less than a 2 and a half hour drive along the Princes Highway from Melbourne. Camperdown is a historically significant town in South West Victoria which is not only home to over 3000 residents but also famous lakes and craters, clocktower, elm-lined boulevard, historic buildings and friendly local community. The Camperdown Campus hospital comprises of a total 63 beds (25 acute, 36 aged care and 2 bed urgent care centre), birthing suites/midwifery services, palliative care services, one operating theatre, radiology and pathology services and district nursing services. Also within Camperdown is the South West Healthcare’s Manifold Place Community Health, David Newman Day Centre and the Camperdown Mental Health Service.

About the role

Environmental Service Assistants are a key member of the South West Healthcare Support Services team. Environmental Service Assistants work with other Support Services team members to undertake a range of clinical and non-clinical cleaning duties which supports the well-being of patients, staff and community.

The Environmental Service Assistant is likely to have contact with patients, staff and visitors to the hospital and will demonstrate effective inter-personnel skills and an ability to work cooperatively and flexibly so as to not disrupt the operation of the Health Service.

  • $33+ per hour, plus superannuation

  • Capacity to operate unsupervised when required
  • Fantastic time management and ability to develop efficient routines
  • Able to work weekends, public holidays and/or change shifts across a 24 hour, 7 day a week roster
  • Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred (but not essential)
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and requirements in a health service setting
