- Part time maximum term position up to February 2026
- Salary range: $98,902 - $123,624 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
About the role
Alongside the current PSL, youth, you will be supporting VLA staff and legal practitioners who do legally aided work on matters within the child protection and youth crime programs. You will be responsible for analysing and synthesising relevant legal resources, contributing to law reform and policy and develop and delivering education and training in the areas of child protection and youth crime education. You will also prepare and create material to be published on our intranet and LawHub.
This role will draw upon your knowledge of youth law practices and your communication skills. You will be interpreting changes to youth law and identifying the impact they will have on VLA practices.
Candidates are welcome to nominate their preferred VLA office location.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Significant practice experience in either child protection or youth crime.
- Experience using a range of information technology including legal research methods and tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly developed people skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
- A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner.
