About us
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is a justice service that resolves a wide range of disputes for the Victorian community, including renting, planning, and consumer disputes. VCAT is committed to delivering an accessible service for all Victorians and is transforming our digital products and services to make it faster, easier, and more convenient for people to come to the tribunal.
The Human Rights Division hears cases under the Guardianship and Administration Act 2019, Medical Treatment Planning and Decisions Act 2016, Powers of Attorney Act 2014, Equal Opportunity Act 2010, Health Records Act 2001, Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014, Disability Act 2006, Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation. The successful applicant will be required to work onsite in Melbourne CBD and have an opportunity to make a genuine contribution by delivering effective and efficient guardianship and human rights services to the community of Victoria.
About the role
The successful applicant will be responsible for the coordination and end to end case management of applications made to the Human Rights Division under the Human Rights and Guardianship Lists.
This will incorporate administrative and business functions with a strong customer focus designed to promote awareness and understanding of VCAT processes and legislative requirements. Case Officers individually manage a caseload of around 80-150 cases at a given time. All cases vary in risk and complexity, and are at various stages of the VCAT process.
