Position Details
THE ROLE
Direct Care Workers provide high quality care, supervision, security and safety to children and adolescents who are residing in a secure welfare unit.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide care, supervision, safety, security, and personal support services from within a range of established procedures and local work practices.
- Support clients in their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development through individual and group work, structured recreational programs and activities, model appropriate behaviours and encourage, facilitate, and support clients in their contact with other clients (as appropriate), families and carers, child protection workers, health and education services and other service providers.
- Participate in the design and implementation of programs for individuals and groups, including individual management plans and a range of personal development, recreational, vocational, and living skills programs.
