Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and highly motivated individual to join the International Team in the Economic Development and International Branch as Senior Policy Adviser at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Working within the International team, you will work closely with colleagues across the Victorian and Commonwealth public services, and with other external stakeholders, to deliver strategic leadership to support Victoria's international engagement efforts.
As the Senior Policy Adviser you will lead on a range of high-profile international engagement policy areas in a fast paced and collaborative environment. The position requires the flexibility to respond to rapid change, strong policy and planning capability to deliver a varied work agenda.
We are seeking candidates who will contribute to a high performing culture, deliver successful outcomes, develop capability within the team and be a leader within the branch.
About you
As our ideal candidate you will have:
- Demonstrated extensive experience in developing policy and strategy in a public sector and/or industry environment combined with a broad understanding of the mechanisms and processes of government.
- Highly developed project management and coordination skills, particularly coordinating government and non-government stakeholders.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with people at all levels and from different backgrounds and organisations.
- Highly developed influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies to gain agreement to proposals and ideas and explores alternatives without foregoing key objectives.
- Ability to demonstrate high level of awareness of own strengths and areas needing development.
