Job Description
South West Healthcare is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Referral Services multidisciplinary team. In this Senior role, you will provide specialist mental health assessments, interventions, consultation, and liaison services to South West Healthcare's Warrnambool Emergency Department (ED). You will coordinate access to acute inpatient beds, including seeking out of
area options when local beds are unavailable, while ensuring all actions align with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, including the necessary reporting and escalation processes.
As a suitable qualified clinician, you will provide urgent and intensive mental health assessments, treatment, and support, working closely with other Senior Mental Health Clinicians, the ED medical team, Ambulance Services, and Victoria Police to deliver specialist care for clients with co-occurring health needs.
Position Overview
- Permanent - Full-time (80 hours per fortnight)
- Monday to Friday roster with full-time hours, regular shifts, and a monthly accrued day off
- Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Occupational Therapist Grade 3, Social Worker Grade 3, or Psychologist Grade 3
- Salary Range: $102,091 - $121,477, plus superannuation
- Eligible for up to $20,000 in incentives for rent, childcare, relocation, and more, through the Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV) program.
What You Bring
We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Clinician with the following experience:
- Occupational Therapist: At least 7 years of mental health experience and AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Psychologist: At least 7 years of mental health experience and AHPRA registration as a Registered Psychologist.
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse: At least 5 years of mental health experience and AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Social Worker: At least 7 years of mental health experience and eligibility for membership in the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within a multidisciplinary team and excellent communication skills.
