About the role

The Director leads the State Capability and Operations team to achieve the high standards of performance, accountability and collaboration; manage the allocation of resources, budgets, business and project planning and reporting; and demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive culture and the development of staff.

The role is expected to collaborate with the Executive Director, State Recovery Operations and Coordination on the identification of priorities and allocation of resources; developing and improving operational policies and procedures and promoting their implementation across state capability, operations and grants management.

About you

To be successful you will have:

• Strong leader and problem solver, with senior experience in operations and project management in complex operating environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to working closely with members of cross portfolio teams to ensure the highest standards of performance and integrity are achieved.
• A strong understanding of the processes and levers that apply to Government.
• Experience in emergency relief and/ or recovery is desirable.
