About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking applications from a committed, enthusiastic and highly experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Mental Health Service directorate and provide experience, growth and development.
As a valued member of our service you will provide discipline specific support to Occupational Therapy Graduates, Occupational Therapists that are transitioning to the Mental Health setting and to Occupational Therapists and the Managers working within the Directorate. This role is responsible for the implementation and delivery of a structured learning program, organisation of rotations and other functions to provide a high-quality graduate program. You will also manage Occupational Therapy student placements and support Managers with matters relating to Occupational Therapists in the Directorate.
You will provide ongoing supervision and support to the graduates and transitioning Occupational Therapists to ensure they have structured goals and outcomes, whilst maintaining a positive environment for their general wellbeing. This exciting opportunity is a great way to establish and embed a plan for workforce sustainability and ensure where able ongoing employment following the graduate program.

- Salary: $128,382.80 pro rata , plus superannuation
What you bring
The successful applicant will have minimum of 10 years relevant as a qualified Occupational Therapist with the ability to demonstrate excellent skills and broad experience in mental health clinical services, including a proven ability to work within a team based multi-disciplinary model. Experience in the application Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment and of adult learning principles in a healthcare setting is very important.
Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team, as well as an ability to demonstrate good judgement, work planning, decision-making abilities and organisational skills are essential. Applicants must hold a current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
A valid driver's licence is required as regional travel is an expectation.
