Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Head of Philanthropy (fixed-term) to join Museums Victoria!

ABOUT THE POSITION:
As Head of Philanthropy, you will strengthen Museums Victoria's financial sustainability by developing and implementing diverse philanthropic programs. Reporting to the Director, Development and Commercial Operations, you will lead initiatives to secure major gifts, annual donations, and bequests.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing innovative fundraising strategies aligned with Museums Victoria's organisational priorities.
- Collaborating with the CEO, Executive Team, and various departments to identify and secure funding opportunities.
- Researching, cultivating, and managing relationships with key philanthropic supporters and prospects.
- Leading and coaching a high-performing team to achieve income targets and key performance indicators.
- Preparing reports, including tracking philanthropic income and engagement metrics, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
- Senior management experience in philanthropic fundraising, including major gifts, annual appeals, and bequests.
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining long-term donor relationships and securing significant contributions.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and project management skills, with the ability to drive revenue growth and manage complex negotiations.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This role is a 18-month full-time fixed-term position providing parental leave cover. Flexible options (0.8 FTE) will also be considered.
This is a VPS6 Full-time position. The salary offered is $130,673 base of grade, plus 11.5% superannuation. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a National Police Records Check, and a Working with Children Check.
