About this role
The Program Manager Emergency Strategy and Capability leads a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the provision of advice, services and systems relating to emergency preparedness and response strategy and direction; building capability; surge workforce and resource management for Agriculture Victoria-led emergency response. The position reports to the Director, Regions and Emergencies and collaborates and cooperates with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of programs, projects and activities.
This position provides high-level direction and advice on a range of issues to ensure successful delivery of the Emergency Strategy and Capability program goals and objectives. The position works collaboratively across Biosecurity and Agriculture Services, Agriculture Victoria and the department to facilitate multiple programs of work. The position requires high level analytical, conceptual, and writing skills; the ability to provide strategic and timely advice on complex issues; the ability to communicate effectively, as well as to work across the organisation and prioritise and respond quickly.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in emergency management is required.
- Demonstrated experience in projects relating to emergency preparedness and response is required.
- A relevant tertiary degree in Science, Agriculture, Public Administration or Emergency Management would be well regarded.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
