About this role
The Manager, Critical Minerals Policy leads a team responsible for providing high level specialist advice and the delivery of actions outlined in the Critical Minerals Roadmap, with an emphasis on Theme 4: ‘Sharing the benefits of Victoria's Minerals'. Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to advice and policy that delivers investment and jobs through the development of the State's resources; while protecting public safety and the environment, the Manager provides authoritative advice to the Department's Executive and the Minister, in a responsive, fast-paced environment.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and acumen in leading the provision of accurate and authoritative policy advice to senior executives and Ministers under demanding timeframes.
- Strong project management skills, including proven ability in managing resources, tracking and reporting on multiple overlapping projects and the ability to be adaptable and reprioritise quickly.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and convincingly, influence outcomes, gain commitment; prepare authoritative advice, clear and succinct reports and policy briefs in a manner that is readily understood by stakeholders from diverse disciplines and backgrounds.
- A tertiary qualification in public policy, natural resource management, economics, law, planning and environment, or a related field would be well regarded.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street with hybrid work arrangements available.
