About this role
The Regional Manager, Forest & Fire Planning leads a diverse team to plan forest and fire management works that provide environmental, economic and social benefits to the community.
The Regional Manager, Forest & Fire Planning is responsible for the development of operational (2-5 year) plans, including the Joint Fuel Management Plan and Operational Forest Management Plan, and enabling the delivery of tactical plans for forest and fire management works through the provision of specialist advice on GIS, risk analytics, values management and engagement support.
The Regional Manager, Forest & Fire Planning also plays a key role in leading the development of regionally based forest and fire management strategic plans, working with the coordinating function within FFOD State to deliver strategies that reflect the 10-year planning horizon.
The Regional Manager, Forest and Fire Planning is also responsible for leading the Region to work in partnership with Traditional Owners to progress their aspirations for cultural fire and cultural values management.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in science, natural resource management or equivalent.
- Experience in leading diverse teams to deliver complex work programs.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position flexible within Port Phillip Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
