About the role:
The Senior Policy Adviser will lead and contribute to strategic policy projects relevant to the Department of Health's Health Regulator as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of subject areas including (but not limited to) food safety, radiation safety, and health workforce regulation. These projects may include short and long term Health Regulator strategies (such as strategic focus strategies, communications strategies, or partnership strategies) as well as strategy monitoring and evaluation, and legislative or regulatory reform projects across a range of regulatory areas relevant to the Health Regulator.

About you:
- You're a policy or regulatory professional comfortable working across a range of subject areas.
- A sophisticated communicator, able to provide clear, comprehensive and concise advice on technical and complex issues to a range of stakeholders and to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Seeking an opportunity to learn, grow and achieve.
- You can lead and contribute strategic, legislative and regulatory reform projects across a range of regulatory areas relevant to the Health Regulator.
- High quality policy and strategic advice, options and recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research and analysis.
- Maintain an understanding of relevant issues impacting the department's portfolios, in particular those relevant to the Health Regulator.
- Represent the branch, unit or team on key stakeholder committees and groups concerned with achieving government, departmental, or Health Regulator objectives and contribute to relevant committee and governance processes.
- Forge strong connections across the department and government to share information and facilitate a partnership approach to planning and implementation of key initiatives.
- Identify patterns of needs across internal and external Health Regulator stakeholders and advocate to ensure specific needs of the Health Regulator and stakeholders are heard and factored into the formulation of broader changes.
- Identify synergies in Health Regulator activities across various regulated areas and realise opportunities for improvements, reform or efficiencies.
- Influence the Health Regulator agenda and plan to ensure they are aligned to broader whole of government, health portfolio, department or divisional priorities and initiatives.
