Job Description
An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol branch (SCEP) as Head of Strategic Communications at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Strategic Communication, Engagement and Protocol (SCEP) branch provides specialist communication and protocol advice and support to DPC and the Premier's Private Office.
The Head of Strategic Communications is responsible for leading a team that delivers high-quality and effective communications, issues and risk management, stakeholder engagement and advice to senior stakeholders, to support the development and delivery of Strategic Communications Engagement and Protocol communications and engagement priorities.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will bring
- Demonstrated experience in managing, leading and mentoring multiple teams in a diverse and dynamic environment, including the ability to plan, prioritise and influence individual and team performance.
- Demonstrated experience at a senior level in planning, project management and managing the implementation of communications and/or engagement programs and strategies within a large, complex environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality, innovative media and communication strategies and materials through a variety of channels in both traditional and digital landscapes.
- Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, provide timely and accurate advice and work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in building a culture that enables collaboration across the organisation and empowers individuals and teams to deliver their best.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluating projects as part of continual improvement.
- Strong understanding of external and internal environmental factors that influence the strategic direction of the organisation.
