About this role
As the Senior Strategic Planning Officer, you will manage and support the management of assets and the delivery of associated capital infrastructure works on the State Forest and Parks Victoria road network by providing high quality strategic planning services, including providing guidance to policy setting, implementing planning processes to state wide application ensuring compliance with legislation, development and management of relationships with stakeholders, the identification of planning requirements relating to construction and maintenance works on roads and crossings, supporting planning input into the preparation and management of tender and contract documentation and processes and providing specialist advice on complex stratgeic planning issues.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in natural resource management or civil works field.
- Knowledge and experience working with relevant legislation, policies and management procedures relating to road management on public land.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to facilitate dialogue and to understand and adapt to different situations.
- Ability to use a range of computer software applications for developing spreadsheets, word processing and emails as well as experience with GIS / Mapping programs.
- Experience in the planning and delivery of civil works or similar in a public land management setting is desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
