About this role
Make a real impact on Victoria's water markets.
The Manager, Market Reform and Transparency is responsible for a leading a program of work to ensure Victoria's water markets are working effectively and are transparent.
Current areas of focus include monitoring and reviewing overall effectiveness of Victoria's markets,ensuring transparency of water market data and information, improving access to trade opportunities and clarifying trade rules in groundwater and unregulated surface water systems. Delivery of the program supports Victoria's contribution to implement the Commonwealth's Murray-Darling Basin Water Market Reform Roadmap.
The position forms part of the Compliance and Market Reform team, and leads a small sub-team to deliver the market reform program of work.
The role requires an effective collaborator and problem solver who can work with a wide range of stakeholders to develop and propose workable solutions and incorporate them effectively into the work program to ensure solutions are implemented.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in natural resource management, economics, science, engineering or other relevant disciplines is highly desirable.
- A sound understanding of Victoria's water entitlement framework, water markets and river operations would be well regarded.
- Stakeholder management experience within the water sector is highly desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 Months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
