At the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC), we've helped thousands of injured workers and employers to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives. We're a robust Victorian Government statutory authority that's making an impact.
Due to recent movements and continuing in an exciting chapter of growth, we need you to join us as a Communications Specialist. As part of our Strategy & Experience team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and delivery of WIC's communications activities and plans. Harnessing your expertise, you will produce high quality written content for internal and external communications platforms and audiences.
Additionally, you will manage the development of communications content, establish quality standards and controls to meet deadlines and provide expertise on projects delivering service improvements for our clients and stakeholders.
You will support the Workplace Injury Commission to achieve its vision of delivering service excellence in alternative dispute resolution.
Who we're looking for:
To succeed in this role, along with your inherent enjoyment of working with people and natural flair for storytelling, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline.
- You will possess a track record of providing proactive and professional communications support, advice and guidance in a similar role (preferably government)
- Demonstrated experience creating, developing and executing communications plans with clear objectives and deliverables, working to tight deadlines.
- Highly developed writing and editing skills, coupled with the ability to apply inclusive language, write in a range of voices, tones and across multiple media channels to reach target audiences.
- Demonstrated experience creating, managing and updating information for intranet and external website platforms.
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Proficient with modern digital design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva.
