About this role
The Manager, Mining Approvals Coordinator is responsible for leading a team focused on facilitating works approvals for mining projects in Victoria by providing oversight of the case management of mining works approval applications from inception through to completion and implementing initiatives to promote Victoria's investment attractiveness for mining projects.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in economic geology, natural resource management, public policy, or another relevant field would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated contemporary mining industry experience that encompasses policy, operations, identifying investment drivers and major projects to increase resource investment.
- Advanced analytical capabilities with the proven ability to manage, analyse and synthesise economic and industry data to develop and effectively deliver evidenced base strategies and communications.
- Highly developed communication skills, including an ability to develop and present concisely articulate opportunities and issues and offer well considered proposals and solutions at senior levels in the public and/or private sectors.
- A detailed understanding of approvals processes relating to the earth resources sector would be highly regarded.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until 31 December 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
