Join our elite team as a Senior Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Training!
Get ready to lead, plan, coordinate and implement district technical and fire role training and deliver engaging programs to support field staff to gain essential accreditation skills. The role has a technical training focus and is responsible for the delivery of training and development activities to support individual field staff to gain accreditation and experience in necessary technical capabilities, including mentoring, supervision and competency assessment.
You will have the ability and skills to deliver training activities a district level and be responsible for scheduling staff, resources and equipment. You are required accreditations and experience in a range of technical capabilities related to bushfire response and delivering works in forest environments.
You will, at times and at the direction of the District Operations Manager, be deployed to the delivery of regular field-based duties in order to support operational crews and to maintain the technical skills and knowledge required to be effective in the role.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Forest and Fire Operations Division responsibilities and delivery of programs including forest management, road management, fuel management & emergency preparedness and response.
- Current accreditation (or substantial progress towards) Cert IV Training and Assessment (TAE40122) including demonstrated compliance with documentation requirements and experience in training and delivery of competency assessment for field based or technical skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of training relating to technical and operational roles and skills.
This position is ongoing, available in the regional location of Barwon South West Region, Victoria.
