Senior Policy Officer - Chemicals

About this role

The Senior Policy Officer - Chemicals plays a key advisory and leadership role in the regulation of agricultural and veterinary (agvet) chemical use in Victoria. The successful candidate will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the division, involving developing and leading policy and legislation for the regulation of agvet chemical use in Victoria.
The role provides a key point of contact on chemical use legislation and policy for biosecurity staff and the broader department. The role interacts across the Agriculture Victoria Group and establishes and maintains networks with external stakeholders, inter-government agencies and a broad range of internal and external parties.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desired.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Flexible in Victoria (office based at Attwood) with hybrid work arrangements available.
