Role description
The Casual AHA is responsible for performing work delegated by, and under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional (AHP). The role involves working with patients and community clients across the organisation as directed, which may include: acute/subacute units, Transition Care Program, home-based services, residential aged care, and community-based programs.
The AHA will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapies as prescribed by the relevant health professional. These include strengthening based physiotherapy programs, speech therapy, dietetics assistance, occupational therapy programs and activities of daily living, including assisting with group programs such as the movement groups in residential aged care and breakfast group on the rehabilitation inpatient unit, and other therapeutic activities and recreationally focused programs as required.
This role is primarily based at the Dhelkaya Health Castlemaine site, but the AHA may be required to work at other organisational sites, community-based facilities or in people's homes as directed.
About you
Must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- Holds an Allied Health Assistant Qualification (which may include: Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance,
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent qualification from a Registered Training Organisation)
- Has completed a minimum of 80 hours of clinical placement experience
- Current driver licence
