Position Details
THE ROLE
The Deputy Secretary, North provides leadership and oversees human service area-based service delivery in the northern part of Victoria. The role is responsible for ensuring the Division's priorities align with the strategic direction of the department.
Through planning, monitoring and best practice, the Deputy Secretary, North will drive a client-centred, high-performance culture to achieve positive client outcomes and deliver quality services to vulnerable Victorians. The Deputy Secretary is accountable for service delivery in the North Eastern Melbourne, Hume Merri-bek, Loddon and Mallee Areas.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead and motivate a large workforce to ensure a client-centred culture aligned to the department's vision and broader government objectives.
- Lead the effective client-centred delivery of services within the Division, including child protection, housing and related health and wellbeing programs, to ensure performance and statutory requirements are met and future service delivery requirements are managed.
- Contribute to driving innovation and implementation within the Division of service development and reform designed to meet the changing needs of clients in a practical and responsive way and which increases the social and economic participation of complex client groups.
