• H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located 140klm west of Melbourne at Trawalla. The prison's primary purpose is to prepare male prisoners for transition, reintegration, and release. As a working farm with eight separate industries, there is a strong focus on employment, training, and work readiness.

About this role

• A Prison Supervisor manages the day-to-day functional needs of accommodation and/or security areas. They will be responsible for managing a team of custodial and non-custodial officers delivering a range of correctional services for which they will require strong people management skills.
• The role requires leadership, maturity, sound judgement, and confidence in decision making, with developed capabilities to coach, mentor and motivate staff.  With highly developed communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills the Prison Supervisor leads and manages staff to achieve program and service outcomes in a multidisciplinary team and rehabilitative environment.
• The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a correctional environment, as well as demonstrated commitment to working with staff, prisoners, and other service providers in the delivery of an integrated, whole of Justice approach to reducing re-offending.
