EOI - Senior Policy Officer

About this role

We are pleased to invite expressions of interest from DEECA employees to act as Senior Policy Officer. Fixed-term employees may only be placed in this vacancy for the remainder of their existing contract term. Casual and agency employees are ineligible.

The Senior Policy Officer, leads the development, delivery, and monitoring of high-quality partnership and engagement strategies for the development of Victoria's offshore wind industry. The Senior Policy Officer has strong communication and engagement skills and engages with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and is responsive and flexible to their needs.   

The position works with Traditional Owner Corporations through the principles of self-determination to develop partnerships. They also engage with a wide spectrum of internal and external stakeholders across state and federal government departments, local government, energy agencies and senior external industry, research, and community stakeholders.  

The Senior Policy Officer has excellent collaboration skills, works effectively in a fast-paced environment and can rapidly reprioritise their work to support the broader team. The Senior Policy Officer has skills to engage with complex subject matters and to navigate and follow the systems and processes required in the Victorian Government.

Division and branch: Offshore Wind Energy Victoria, Partnerships Branch 

Duration: 6 months

Location: Flexible

Reporting to: Sharon Ruyg - Manager, Partnerships
