About the role: 

The Senior Operations and Response Officer – Logistics contributes to the effective and efficient planning, monitoring, and delivery of the Department of Health's emergency management preparedness, response, relief and recovery obligations. Working as part of the Emergency Management Operations and Response team, the role is responsible for the technical and strategic management and delivery of the emergency management logistics capability and functions for the Department of Health. The role's principal focus is ensuring resources (other than people) are fit for purpose and able to be accessed quickly and are ready at all times. 

This role will undertake Emergency Operations functions including State Duty Officer and Logistics Officer on a rostered and on-call basis.  This role will also contribute to the 24-hour, 7-day-a-week preparedness and operations of state-wide emergency response activities in line with emergency sector and departmental guidelines.

The role works across the Emergency Management Branch, and with key partners such as Public Health, Building and eHealth services, Ambulance Victoria, hospital and health services, other emergency agencies and local government
