About the Victorian School Building Authority
The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education. Established in 2016, it oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the state introduced free public education in the 1870s. The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand. We also support schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants. With Victoria recently introducing two years of funded kindergarten, the VSBA is also working with the early childhood sector on a massive kindergarten construction program.
About the Division
The Corporate Division provides corporate support to all VSBA teams and fulfills an important assurance and oversight role. They guide VSBA to achieve strategic objectives and ensure decision-making is transparent and accountable.
About the Role
The Performance, Reporting and Analytics team performs a combination of branch-wide administration, reporting functions and project management responsibilities.
The team provides expert advice to the VSBA Executive team, Deputy Premier's Office, Minister for Children, DE and other government agencies on school and Early Childhood infrastructure.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing regular reports for the Deputy Premier and Office including Capital and Operational portfolios and the Weekly Milestone Report.
- Providing regular reports for the Minster for Children and Office including, Early Childhood Site Selection and Infrastructure Delivery.
- Developing Capital, Operational and Early Childhood reports for the VSBA's 3 Portfolio Management Committees to provide updates on various portfolios progress and risks.
- Providing regular reports for DE's Performance and Evaluation Division including election commitments and priority initiatives.
- Supporting the PAEC processes for Ministers and the Secretary.
- Providing a suite of other reports including, ad hoc requests.
The role of project officer will support the team to:
- Coordinate and produce reporting and written communications about infrastructure projects.
- Analyse data using standard tools (e.g. Excel).
- Consult with internal stakeholders to prepare reports, responses and analysis.
- Use internal systems to find information and manage records.
