About the Team

The Insurance Team is a specialised group within Professional Services responsible for managing insurance matters on behalf of our clients. The team consists of five members, including a senior, who work closely with clients, beneficiaries, internal stakeholders and external providers to arrange and manage insurance coverage. They help protect properties and personal assets on behalf of our clients. 

About the Role 

As a Senior Insurance Officer, you'll manage insurance needs related to clients' real estate and personal assets, including arranging new cover, updating or cancelling policies, and handling insurance claims end-to-end. 

You'll also manage service level agreements with insurers and external providers, advocate on behalf of clients when negotiating policy terms or contesting claims and provide guidance and expertise to internal stakeholders across the business. 

Skills and Experience  

Required:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or experience in insurance or owner's corporations
• Experience managing insurance claims end-to-end
• Strong customer service and administrative skills
• Proficiency in electronic recordkeeping and document management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to write professional reports, correspondence and recommendations
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Desirable:

• Experience as an Insurance Assessor, including for partial and/or total loss claims
• Background in financial services and/or trustee services
• Understanding of the Privacy Act, Financial Services Regulations and contract management
• Knowledge of insurance principles and practices
