About the role:
The Senior Policy Officer is an integral member of a small team responsible for driving collaboration between health services. In this role, you will help to develop and deliver reforms, with a strong focus on the hospital system. This includes supporting voluntary merger processes between health services and performance oversight of the new Local Health Service Networks – a key recommendation from the Health Services Plan.

About you:
Are you:
- Able to provide advice and develop innovative solutions to complex issues based on thorough research
- Analyse and interpret policy and laws to form recommendations and considers implications.
- Monitor and report on issues, risks and trends and prepare reports, ministerial briefs, and Cabinet submissions.
- Support the delivery of departmental policies and services, including when impacted by sensitive and complex issues.
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
Qualifications - A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, politics or public administration would be desirable.
Specialist Expertise
Highly desirable:
- Comprehensive health system expertise: experience and understanding across health service policy, hospital operations and system management
- Public sector management: comprehensive understanding of the operation of government at all levels and demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing employees.
