Learning and Capability Officer - Family Violence
- Use your expertise in training to deliver engaging, trauma informed MARAMIS (family violence) training to prescribed internal DJCS staff and staff in DJCS-funded agencies
- Support training development, administration and reporting activities both in the team and the Learning and Capability area
- Contribute to a culture of learning and capability development by using training, tools, and resources to build a comprehensive and shared understanding of the MARAM Framework across DJCS and funded agencies
- VPS 4 position: $97,955 to $111,142 plus super on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027
About the Business Unit:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a trusted justice and community safety system that works to build a just, safe and resilient Victoria. The department has ongoing obligations under the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 (Act)to align to the MARAM Framework, implement the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and Child Information Sharing Scheme, and is committed to providing best practice in family violence prevention, identification and response.
People, Safety, Culture and Communications (PSCC) lead the department's strategic people functions and ensure our workforce has the right skills and capabilities, culture and working environment to achieve its strategic priorities.
The Family Violence Learning and Capability team sits within the Learning and Capability function of PSCC. It builds the workforce capabilities of the department and prescribed funded agencies to identify and respond to family violence by developing and delivering customised MARAM training, according to the specific context of the workforce and applicable reforms.
About the Role:
As a Learning and Capability Officer in the Family Violence Learning and Capability team, you will be responsible for supporting family violence capability uplift aligned to the MARAM Framework. You will work alongside VPS 4 and VPS 5 colleagues in the team.
You will report to the Learning and Capability Lead Consultant - Family Violence and be involved in developing and delivering MARAM family violence training at the Foundational and Identification level. Expert facilitation skills and a good understanding of the MARAM framework are required. You will use this to also develop engaging, practice-focused learning resources that support retention of key concepts and promote sustained practice change following training delivery.
Some of your duties will include:
- Delivering training packages through both in-person and remote delivery (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams), and bringing an understanding of trauma informed practice to the role.
- Supporting development and revision of family violence training modules in alignment with individual business unit needs, to ensure effective delivery of MARAM training.
- Embedding evaluation and feedback mechanisms into training delivery, to ensure this evidence guides continuous improvement of materials to meet business needs.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in providing high quality administrative support, or coordination of scheduling with strong attention to detail.
- Proven experience in delivering training to adult learners, including facilitation of both in-person and remote sessions, group facilitation, and presentations to large and diverse audiences.
- Experience using a Learning Management System is advantageous.
