About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) Mental Health Service is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (MHAIU). This role will support the Nurse Unit Manager in developing, maintaining, and evaluating specialist bed-based programs.
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will also:
- Contribute to the development of clinical frameworks for the MHAIU
- Mentor and support Associate Nurse Unit Managers (ANUMs)
- Collaborate on high-quality program development with Clinical Nurse Educators, the Nurse Unit Manager, and the Senior Mental Health Nurse
You will be well supported by the Inpatient Services Manager, Senior Mental Health Nurse, and the broader Mental Health leadership team. This role also offers opportunities to collaborate with Clinical Nurse Consultants across other Victorian mental health services.
Position overview
- Employment Type: Part-time (48 hours per fortnight), On-going position
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 5
- Salary Range: $126,885.20 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
To be successful in this role, applicants must have:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an ANUM in an Acute Inpatient Unit or equivalent
- Well-developed clinical competency and analytical skills in the mental health field
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage effectively at all levels
- Qualifications required for a Grade 5 position, including one of the following:
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- A Specialist Undergraduate Mental Health Nursing Program
- A Specialist Post-Basic Mental Health Nursing Course
