Permissions Lead - Port Phillip

About this role

The Permissions Lead will lead the coordination of permissions delivery within a DEECA region and work collaboratively to inform and deliver permissioning reform across the Conservation Regulator. 

A key leadership position within the Regional Regulatory Operations Unit, this position works with the Manager Regulatory Operations and Regulatory Program Manager to deliver effective and efficient regional permissions on a risk basis.

Key activities of the position include:

• Evaluating permissions to determine assessment needs
• Ensuring a sound case management approach to permissioning work
• Supporting a risk-based approach to compliance monitoring
• Undertaking permissioning assessments
• Identify opportunities for permissions reform
• Assisting in designing reforms

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of conservation regulatory legislation, policy and the planning and delivery of compliance
• A Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or an equivalent qualification) and/or experience in the application of environmental regulation is highly desirable.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position varies, with hybrid work arrangements available.
