About the role:
The Senior Project Officer, Mental Health and AOD Workforce Growth supports a team that leads implementation of a program of growth initiatives dedicated to workforce innovation, expansion, and promotion.
The role is responsible for design and execution of workforce growth related work from: the strategic planning process through to delivery, forging and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, and the coordination of expert advice to inform the design of a contemporary and reform-aligned workforce.

About you:
To be successful in this role you will have the capabilities
- Advanced Computer Proficiency - Uses a wide range of software application features; may have capability in use of statistical packages; assists others with problem solving on relevant applications.
- Policy - Formulates and communicates public policy options and recommendations; keeps up to date with a broad range of contemporary issues; scans for links and potential implications of proposed policy options.
- Project Management - Consults, liaises with, and influences key stakeholders; produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; monitors performance against objectives and manages project risks and issues; ensures project objectives are met.
Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in fields related to education and training and/or public health; and a sound understanding of the Victorian mental health system would be desirable.
Specialist Expertise:
The following would be beneficial:
- Experience in the mental health workforce sector.
- Workforce planning experience.
- An understanding of challenges faced by people with mental illness, mental health challenges or psychological distress, including as a family member, carer or supporter.
