About the role:
Working within a team reporting to the Manager, Aged Care Policy this role will design, implement, coordinate and monitor a suite of programs that will support early intervention and hospital avoidance for older Victorians, the Senior Project Officer will contribute to the delivery of multiple and complex programs in relation to aged care, and the health and aged care reform interface.
The role is a great opportunity to demonstrate and build on the full set of public sector project management skills, including program design and implementation, collaborating and influencing across agencies, driving and reporting on performance, evaluation and managing financial and reputation risk. The role will include exposure to departmental, health service and Commonwealth stakeholders, and provide a good view of health system priorities and issues.

About you:
To be succesful in this role you require the following capabilities
- Program and Project Management - Consults, liaises with, and influences key stakeholders; produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; monitors performance against objectives and manages project risks and issues; ensures project objectives are met.
- Stakeholder Management - Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses to build mutually beneficial partnerships; identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs; uses understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved; find innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.
- Systems Thinking - Diagnoses trends, obstacles, and opportunities in the internal and external environment; understand the linkages between natural systems and communities to inform policy; conceptualises and defines the systems working within the organisation.
Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in a field related to health, disability, data analysis, project management or public policy would be desirable.
Specialist Experience:
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in health or aged care sectors in Victoria and/or the Commonwealth would be advantageous.
