About the role
We're looking for an experienced Manager, Strategic Workforce Planning to lead the development and implementation of our first enterprise-wide workforce planning strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to drive long-term, impactful change in how we attract, develop, and retain a workforce that serves the diverse legal and non-legal needs of Victorians.
As the Manager, Strategic Workforce Planning, you will:
- Lead the design and delivery of VLA's inaugural workforce planning strategy.
- Partner with senior leadership in identifying future workforce needs aligned to organisational goals.
- Implement data-driven initiatives such as workforce skills assessments, capability mapping, and workforce modelling.
- Refine and prioritise existing planning initiatives, with a strong initial focus on frontline roles including lawyers, legal assistants, and First Nations staff.
- Conduct internal capability reviews and external environmental scans to inform workforce design.
- Collaborate across functions to ensure alignment with government priorities, legislative requirements, and community needs.
- Champion innovative, inclusive, and flexible employment models and workplace strategies.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Significant experience in strategic workforce planning, human resources strategy, or organisational development.
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology, or related discipline and/or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of the public sector and regulatory environments, including an understanding of the justice system and workforce trends within legal services.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at senior levels.
- A collaborative, people-centred approach to driving innovation and change.
