About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the perform..ance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

CCV
The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the Role
This is a critical role for supporting the Court's operations by providing high-level administrative, technical and courtroom support to judges.
You will work in a dynamic and sensitive environment, requiring sound judgment, strong organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
The role requires you to assist judges and associates at circuit locations across regional Victoria, which may involve residing away from Melbourne for 4-5 weeks at a time, several times a year. This includes making travel arrangements and transporting equipment and materials, as needed.
In this role, you will:
- provide operational and administrative support in chambers and courtrooms, including remote hearings
- maintain court protocols, administer oaths and affirmations, and log proceedings
- operate and troubleshoot in-court technology including digital recording systems
- manage jury processes in accordance with the Juries Act 2000, and liaising with officers of Juries Victoria
- maintain accurate records in line with the County Court Records Disposal Authority
- participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
You must be highly proficient in the use of technology as the role involves utilising technology, often integrated with video conferencing platform..s such as Zoom and Webex, to facilitate hearings, and to record evidence.
