About the Business Unit:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs and services which focus on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system.
DJCS oversees functions including Aboriginal Justice, Victim Support, Justice Services, Family Violence, Justice Operations, Regional Services Network, Corrections, Youth Justice, Emergency Management, Police and Crime Prevention, Regulation, Corporate Services, Justice Coordination, and Workplace Safety Policy.
The Transformation, Development and Capability division is responsible for a diverse range of functions to support Groups and business units including in organisational design, change management, business planning and strategic workforce projects, learning and capability, workforce diversity, inclusion and intersectionality policy.
About the Role:
The Senior Project Adviser, Strategy and Performance is responsible for enabling the learning and capability function in the Department.
Some of your duties will include:
- Leading the development of project documentation, policies and procedures to support the effective operation of the learning function aligned to its business objectives with a key focus on training operations
- Providing expert advice on key projects to senior leaders to enable effective decision making
- Providing and receiving highly complex, contentious or sensitive information where high levels of negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- A strong ability to consider historical, political and broader context to inform project direction and mitigate risk while engaging key stakeholders at senior levels and balancing the needs of clients, team, and the organisation
- A strong ability to identify and manage a range of complex and often competing needs while facilitating innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues
- Extensive experience in managing a range of high-level projects within a learning environment is desirable.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Current Australian Drivers Licence essential
- Certificate IV in Project Management or equivalent is highly desired
- An undergraduate degree in Public Relations, Communications or equivalent is highly desired.
