About the Business Unit:
HM Prison Barwon is a maximum-security prison located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km from the centre of Geelong and about 70km from Melbourne and is part of the Barwon Southwest Regional structure. It is Victoria's major maximum-security prison for sentenced male prisoners. The prison officially opened in January 1990 and currently houses up to 416 men in custody, including high security, long term management, protection (including specialist protection), general mainstream (maximum security) and medium security prisoners.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Industry Supervisor, the Grounds and Services Officer will work within a multidisciplinary team and is required to be well organised to assist with the coordination and conduct of general routine and scheduled grounds maintenance and services in the prison.
Some of your duties will include:
- Picking up and delivering a wide variety of items within the prison while ensuring that schedules are adhered to
- Loading, unloading and preparing to inspect and operate a light delivery vehicle
- Maintaining existing grounds, caring for plants, assist in landscaping, and keeping walkways clean
- Ensuring grounds and yards are presented in a tidy and professional appearance
- Planning and organising daily work requirements to ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Experience in delivery of services and logistics
- Experience in maintenance
- Driver's license for light vehicle with competent driving skills
- Good driving skills with no traffic violations
- Ability to operate light machinery and vehicles.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
- Maintenance and Logistics background and experience is ‘desirable'
- Forklift licence desirable.
