About the role
ACMI is seeking a Visitor Experience (VX) Manager to lead our Visitor Experience team. The VX Manager provides end-to-end operational leadership of the VX team ensuring an exceptional experience for our museum visitors. The role will develop and deliver innovative, visitor-centred experience and service design, which supports the museum's values, strategy and business plan objectives. This is a full-time ongoing role reporting to the Executive Director of Experience & Engagement.
What you'll bring to the role
- Extensive experience in the successful management of the full range of front of house functions and operations, including ticketing and rostering; experience in the management of events and exhibitions, preferably within the museum sector or other relevant industries.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams focused on delivering outstanding visitor experiences and achieving strategic, financial, and operational goals.
- Skills in developing and evaluating customer service functions through innovative, audience-first approaches with a solid understanding of visitor behavior and volunteer management practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to represent ACMI in a variety of settings and advocate for meaningful, inclusive visitor and volunteer experiences.
- Adaptive leadership, bringing creativity, sound judgment, and analytical skills to improve services and experiences.
