ABOUT THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to lead the delivery of accurate and compliant end-to-end payroll services for Museum Victoria, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time in accordance with the Cultural and Creative Arts Enterprise Agreement (CCAEA), legislation, and organisational policies This position is responsible for maintaining data integrity in Aurion (HRIS) and Tanda (rostering/time & attendance), providing expert advice on pay-related conditions under the CCAEA, and supporting system and process improvements that enhance payroll efficiency and compliance.
Some of the key duties include:
- Coordinating and processing end-to-end payroll in an accurate and compliant manner, including STP submissions, superannuation payments, and reconciliations.
- Interpreting and applying the Cultural and Creative Arts Enterprise Agreement (CCAEA) and employment legislation to ensure correct pay, leave, allowances, and termination calculations.
- Conducting regular payroll audits and reconciliations to maintain compliance with ATO, Fair Work, and superannuation requirements.
- Maintaining and updating Aurion payroll configurations in line with legislative, agreement, and structural changes.
- Preparing detailed payroll and costing reports for Finance and management to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency, automation, and governance— including integration between Aurion and Tanda and the transition to paperless operations.
- Providing expert advice and support to managers and employees on payroll and entitlements.
The successful applicant will have:
- Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll coordination within a large, complex organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply enterprise agreements and employment legislation to payroll matters.
- Proven skill in conducting audits, reconciliations, and variance reporting to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
- High-level proficiency in Aurion (or equivalent HRIS), Tanda, and Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting.
- Experience updating payroll systems and configurations to reflect agreement or legislative changes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a focus on accuracy and service excellence.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
- A demonstrated commitment to teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement in payroll delivery.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a fixed-term position until April 2027, offered as either Full-time or 0.8 FTE.
The salary on offer is VPS4.1 base of grade - $97,955 per annum + 12% Superannuation.
The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
